I'm still alive.

Wow, it sure has been a long time since last I wrote. Things around here have just been beyond crazy. It seems like everytime I get one task done, I find 2 more that need done. Even now, there's a whole pile of them at the bottom of the stairs waiting for me to come back down and get them.

Lets see, we left off with me having electicity issues didn't we? Well, when I finally tired of having the electricity yanked every 20 - 30 minutes and the stress of wondering what it was doing to my computer's brain, I pulled out an electricity schematic that I found in the breaker box, and figured out what outlets and lights attached to which breakers. After some careful thought and discerning, I came to the conclusion (with help from dad who I emailed a copy to) that the best course of action was to move the computer upstairs.

Now, when I get an idea in my head about something that really needs done, I set about accomplishing it usually before thinking it through fully. This time was no different. DH wasn't going to be home for another 4 - 5 hours and I just didn't want to wait, so I decided that I would carry the computer desk up the stairs myself. There are 2 flights of stairs, one on the left side and one on the right/back (hard to explain). Anyway, I decided that the 'back' stairs was the way to go since it would be a shorter route to get me to the storage room that was to become the office. Just past the point of no return, I realized that I had made a very poor choice. There I was standing on a step, perhaps 1/3 of the way up the stairs with the desk below me (yeah, like I could really pull the thing up behind me, ha!) with only a corner of the desk balanced on stair, meanwhile, the rest of it trying to pull out of my hands and go crashing through the shoji and glass doors below.

I tried to lower it to a different stair. No good, I don't wan't to ruin my spine today. I tried to pull it up a stair, no good, I'm sorta stuck in a corner here. After finally inching it this way and that and lots of hoisting (as far as the low doorway that I was still in would let me), I finally got it to a point where I could wedge it against the handrail and it stayed. Here's where I'm really glad we have two stairwells. I run up the last of the stairs and headed down the other set and around to the bottom of my 'situation'. Looking at this disaster and the now totally scratched stairs, I pondered if I should just wait for my hunny to come home from work. After about 1/4 second, I decided that no, I had started this, I was going to finish it. Besides, this island I'm on get's 20% of the worlds annual earthquakes, the last thing I need is a little quake to bust this thing loose and have it come crashing through my paper and glass door into the playroom. Anyway, after more heaving and shoving and so forth, I finally got the desk up the stairs, through the man room, up another large step, through the master bedroom, down the little hall and into the storage room.

The rest of the computer sundries followed as I shoved tents, coolers, and tool boxes into the hall as quietly as I could so as to not wake the baby. Anyway, now I'm in a little office, and it's actually really pretty neat! It's about 6ft x 4 1/2ft I think. It's a really tight fit, I can tell you that...

Anyway, here is where the magic happens now...
Sorry the picture's not very good, it's impossible to get a picture that shows much of the room, cause there's nowhere to take it from.
