I discovered much to my surprise, that when I logged onto the Internet with my laptop, and google popped up, that everything was in Japanese. I had presumed that somehow my American computer would keep me hooked up with American websites. What a dork I am!
Anyway, after much trickery and thankfully some degree of being able to remember where certain options are on the page, I was able to guess click my way to some answers and finally was able to find and set as my default page, http://www.google.com/intl/en/ so that I can not only see the google homepage in English, but can also run my searches in English. Some things I found set my home page to English, but when I would go to my account, everything was in Japanese again... What a mess that was!
Anyway, the link which I'll put again should work for anyone who finds themselves in another country and suddenly your computer is speaking another language.

WOAH, Johnny! At least if it was French or Spanish, or something, you'd be able to kind-of recognize and translate it. Japanese looks... Wow. Difficult.
